Ecto Farm Question - Guild Wars Forums

Am I the only one who???s noticed a massive lack of Ecto drop in the Underworld ever since the 7 hero update occurred? ( I gave it time, I thought maybe it was a fluke but it's been way too many runs now...) Was the drop nerfed, or maybe too many people are going in with a full hero parties to do the quest line? (I've heard that area congestion can cause lack of drops for others, is this even proven? lol At this point I'd believe it! ) Either way my lucks been shot. I used to go down there completely alone on my Ritualist and would come out with 2-5 average. Ever since the update I have literally gotten none and I really have tried to farm. I'm feeling a bit confused in the matter.

Are there really any answers to this or has my luck run dry?

I did some rit solo farming a few days ago, didn't notice anything strange. Had 13 ecto in 5 or 6 runs, so..

Went into UW yesterday doing a spider run and 3 ecto droped. I think its just bad day for you or loot scaling...where you farm an area too much in a peroid of time and theres less drops.

i think your just having a bad streak of luck, Ecto`s dropping at normal rate for me .

It has been generally assumed that the more you farm a specific area on a specific character, the worse your drops will become.
This being called "Anti-farm code".

It has been told that doing several missions attempts to reset or lessen the anti farm code, so you get more drops.

Rare materials (i.e. glob of ectoplasm) are not affected by anti-farm code, so I think it's just a case of bad luck.

I have had occasions where I get no ecto on a full labyrinth clear with my ritualist multiple times in a row... just keep trying or do another farm if it becomes frustrating! =]

I usually take a few days off with that character if I am having really bad luck (give them a holiday). Play a different character for a few days and then get back to the first--who by then has passed the bad streak and is ready to play again (never under estimate a holiday
